21st August 2025
Students across Learning Partners Academy Trust are celebrating another year of excellent GCSE results, reflecting their determination, resilience, and the unwavering support of our dedicated school staff.
From Fullbrook in Addlestone, George Abbot, Guildford County and Kings in Guildford, to Glebelands in Cranleigh, students have achieved impressive outcomes following a demanding exam period and months of preparation. These results are a testament to their hard work and the strong partnership between students, teachers, and families.
The 2025 GCSE cohort faced the challenges of a rigorous examination series and a long wait for results with admirable perseverance. Today, their efforts are rewarded, and they can now take the next steps in their education or training with confidence and pride.
We are proud to share the collective results across our trust below:
9 - 7 = 32.69%
9 - 5 = 68.60%
9 - 4 = 81.40%
Grade 4+ in En & Ma = 78.45%
Grade 5+ in En & Ma = 60.67%
* Further details are available on individual school websites.
The road to GCSE success is a demanding one. Students are required to navigate an intense exam schedule, often sitting multiple papers in a single day. Behind each result is a story of months of dedicated revision, careful preparation, and unrelenting focus. These achievements reflect not only academic ability but also the resilience and determination shown by students, their families, and the dedicated staff who support them every step of the way.
While the Learning Partners Academy Trust celebrates the outstanding academic outcomes of this year’s GCSE students, the trust remains deeply committed to a broader vision of education. Staff across all schools are focused on nurturing the whole child - encouraging curiosity, confidence, and compassion alongside academic growth.
Examinations are one measure of success, but the trust believes that true education goes beyond grades. It is seen in the strength of character students develop, in their ability to lead with integrity, and in their readiness to contribute meaningfully to the world around them. The values instilled throughout their school journey are what truly prepare them for life beyond the classroom.
Jack Mayhew, CEO of Learning Partners Academy Trust said “We are incredibly proud of what our students have accomplished. Their results reflect not only academic achievement, but also the determination and effort they have shown throughout their GCSE journey. This is a significant milestone in their education, and one that has helped them build valuable skills for the future. Congratulations to all our students, and a heartfelt thank you to the staff whose commitment, care and expertise continue to make such a lasting difference.”
Anna Wallis, Head of School at Fullbrook said “Our students have demonstrated real determination and resilience during what has been a demanding exam period. Their results are a well-earned reward for months of hard work and focus, supported every step of the way by our dedicated staff. Congratulations to each and every one of them - I’m especially looking forward to welcoming many of our students back in September as they begin the next stage of their journey with us.”
Kate Carriett, Headteacher at George Abbot School said “I’m delighted with the GCSE outcomes our students have achieved this year. These results are a clear reflection of the strong partnerships within our school community - built on high-quality teaching, high expectations, and the commitment of our students. Their success is thoroughly deserved, and I’m pleased that so many will be continuing their journey with us in the sixth form. Whatever direction they choose next, I have every confidence they will thrive and continue to achieve great things.”
Russell Mitchell, Headteacher at Glebelands School said “Today marks more than just a celebration of exam results - it’s a recognition of how far our students have come. Over the past five years, we’ve watched them grow from tentative Year 7s into self-assured, thoughtful, and resilient young people, ready to take on the world beyond school. Their achievements today are the result of consistent effort, strength of character, and a commitment to learning. We are immensely proud of all they have achieved and wish them every success as they take their next steps.”
Steve Smith, Headteacher at Guildford County School said “We’re really pleased with the results our students have achieved today. Almost a third of all grades being awarded in the top band of grades 9-7 is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our students and staff community. Following exceptional results at A level last week, we now look forward to welcoming not only internal applicants, but also many new external students into our Year 12 provision. Aside from our Year 11 students, we also want to make special mention today of the 15 students in Years 9 and 10 who took Heritage Language GCSEs and achieved grade 9s; an amazing achievement for them all.”
Alastair McKenzie, Executive Principal at Kings College and Fullbrook said "We couldn’t be prouder of our students’ achievements this year. Their commitment and resilience have been remarkable, and these fantastic results reflect the combined efforts of our students, their families, and our supportive staff. Although it’s always hard to say goodbye, we’re excited to watch them embark on the next chapter and wish them every success in the future.”
The exam season - and the long wait for results - can be a time of significant pressure for students, families, and staff alike. At Learning Partners Academy Trust, our emphasis on holistic education and strong pastoral care has helped students develop resilience and confidence throughout their GCSE journey - lessons that go beyond the classroom.
