Starting collaborative provision
30th March 2020
I write from Stoughton, where four out of the five Athena schools have combined their provision for key worker and vulnerable children. Accepting Pirbright’s geography and higher numbers, the other four schools have successfully amalgamated provision and reduced the number of staff required across all schools. Our children are having a fantastic time playing golf, learning map skills, using IT, and completing balancing races around Stoughton’s hall… being careful not to get hit by the lasers while doing so!
This morning has also seen an AST executive team, ‘teams’ meeting to keep the good ship running smoothly. Thank you to everybody for their adaptability and commitment to keeping our ‘new normal’ as productive, calm and purposeful for children and staff. We are in strange times, but the overriding drive of being ‘better together’, provides.
A shorter bulletin this week, but still wholehearted thanks for all you are doing. I am aware a number of governing body meetings are taking place this week, virtually, of course. This pragmatic approach to keeping things moving is appreciated.
Plans to provide Easter supervision for children, as needed, are being finalised. We are pleased to support Athena families over this time. Particular thanks to the public servants among the Athena staff who have given their time to support this vital work.
Until after Easter, stay safe and look after each other.
