What a year!

It has been delightful to see sports days back in full swing across all phases - full of colour, energy and excitement with some great sporting achievements being made across the trust, despite the intense heat! In our secondaries, the return of graduation and celebration ceremonies, recognising the hard work of our pupils and students is very welcome especially when witnessing the joy, happiness and self-pride in those celebrating.
Year 6 productions and leavers assemblies have been taking place, allowing our young learners to celebrate all they have achieved so far and to look forward with excitement and positivity to their next steps in life. There have been residentials galore, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, well-being walks, fundraising events, the list goes on. Essential enrichment activities where lifelong memories are built for both pupils and staff which have had to be put on hold for such a long time. These events don't just happen, they are coordinated with military precision, sometimes months in advance to ensure that our young people get the well-deserved opportunity to celebrate their achievements, build their confidence and enable them to look forward to an exciting future. These events are a result of your commitment to raising outcomes.
It is a truly magical time of year, made all the better for knowing that we are not alone, that we are a family of schools working together, building upon and sharing our expertise. There has been much collaboration over the last 11 months, with pupils from our primary schools joining together for an afternoon at Pirbright to experience Lacrosse. Disadvantaged Yr2 and Yr3 pupils from across the trust are meeting at Loseley Fields on a termly basis to participate in STEM workshops in their purpose-built Field Study Centre. In addition, we have seen cross phase working with secondary staff going into primary schools to deliver subject specific workshops to pupils and primary staff gathering together for writing moderation. We are looking forward to building upon this model of bringing pupils and staff together next year.
The year is certainly ending with a bang, with positive Ofsted inspections at Sandfield and Loseley Fields in recent weeks. Harsh for them to be scheduled in July (!) but we are very proud of their efforts, are pleased with the outcome and will share more details when the reports are published in September
Behind the scenes, staff working parties were formed across all schools to meet and decide upon which operational systems to implement across the trust with a view to streamlining processes, reducing workload and enabling further collaboration. Networks are established and our support system is becoming stronger.
We say goodbye to Katie Moore, Principal at Fullbrook and we all wish her well. Alastair McKenzie will be taking on the role of Executive Principal, overseeing Kings and Fullbrook and Anna Wallis will be Head of School at Fullbrook. Although very sad to see Katie move on, we are delighted for all involved.
We have much to look forward to next year and as always further work is required, however, now is the time to relax, unwind and enjoy the summer break in the knowledge that you will have made a positive difference to many young people this year and that you really deserve it.
